The Process
Whether you’re after just a final digital file to share about and print yourself, or a full-on large format print, mounted, laminated and framed - it all starts with getting intouch via email / phone / msg.
Check the Drip Tray Studio process below:
Objects are mailed to me and photographed using a Phase One medium format digital camera. Usually 30+ images focused stacked together for optimum sharpness.
Once exported from Helicon Focus the final composite image is printed on this large format Canon Pro2000 using Hanemuhle Baryta archival paper.
The prints are mounted onto aluminium composite panel (a solid substrate that won't warp) with this Dry-Tac machine and coated with a UV protective laminate. Max detail. Zero glare.
Frames are handmade to size from English Oak using this old Morso framers guillotine and a Hoffman dovetail router. Tight mitres!
The frames are finished by hand with a dark protective wood stain followed by bees wax.
Then they're ready to go up on the wall. That's Kodie underneath - she has a big print of her favourite Bonio treat hanging on the wall in her room. See below.
